Prof. Mélanie Bourassa-Forcier is the Director of the Health Law and Policy Programs at the University of Sherbrooke and she collaborates as a lawyer with the Montreal law firm Fasken Martineau. Prof. Bourassa Forcier is particularly specialized in the field of health products regulations. She has a particular knowledge of the legal framework governing drugs from their inception in the lab to their consumption. Within her area of expertise are the various standards governing the pharmaceutical life cycle and requiring compliance by industry stakeholders, such as pharmaceutical and biotech companies, researchers, ethics committees, wholesalers, distributors, pharmacies, health professionals, healthcare establishments, consumers and governments. Her expertise also covers regulations governing risk-sharing agreements, optimal utilisation programs, technology transfers and private health insurance.

Prof. Bourassa Forcier is actively involved in the health and life sciences sector in the province of Quebec. She is a board member of the Montreal Heart Institute and a member of the Children Montreal Hospital’s ethics committee.
