Manon St-Pierre has been Chief of the Research, Innovation and Knowledge Transfer Directorate (DRITC) of Quebec’s department of health and social services (MSSS) since November 2006. The DRITC reports to the General Directorate of Planning, Performance and Quality, whose mandate is to guide and coordinate research development activities and research infrastructures in priority areas identified by the MSSS to leverage the results of this research. The DRITC also coordinates the partnership between the MSSS and the INESSS (the province’s institute of excellence in health and social services), and, since July 2010, has been in charge of the Ethics Unit, which oversees the ethical aspects of research activities in health and social services.
Mrs. St-Pierre has a certificate in administrative data processing and a bachelor’s of business administration from the Université du Québec en Abitibi-Témiscamingue (1984). In 1994, she completed a Master degree in project management at the Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières.
